Create a Shortcut to the ArkivDigital Program

To quickly start the ArkivDigital program, you can create a shortcut on your desktop or taskbar, depending on which browser you use. Below, we describe how to do this.

Start your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari) and log in to the ArkivDigital program via the following page: https://app.arkivdigital.se/

If you have previously been logged in and used the program, you must first close all open tabs. Otherwise, all open tabs will reappear when you start the program from the shortcut. This applies regardless of the browser you use. 

Here's how to do it:

At the bottom left corner, you will find the box Close All Except Favorites. Click the white arrow (1) to see more options. Select Close All (2).

A box will appear at the top of the screen. Click Close All again (3) to confirm that you want to close the tabs. All tabs will now be closed. You can now create a shortcut.

Note: If you have many open tabs, you may need to repeat this procedure several times.

Shortcut via Chrome

1. Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of the browser
2. Select Cast, Save, and Share further down in the menu
3. Choose Create Shortcut from the smaller menu displayed to the left of the main menu
4. In the separate window that appears, you will see the ArkivDigital logo and the text "ArkivDigital." Click Create.

A shortcut has now been created on your desktop.

Shortcut via Firefox

Minimize the window so you can see the desktop behind it.

To the left of the address bar, there is a padlock symbol. Click and hold the padlock with the left mouse button. Then drag it to your computer's desktop.

A shortcut with the ArkivDigital logo will now appear on your desktop.

You can also highlight the text in the address bar https://app.arkivdigital.se and drag it to your desktop to create a shortcut.

Shortcut via Edge

1. Click the three horizontal dots in the top right corner of the browser
2. Select More Tools from the menu
3. Choose Pin to Taskbar from the next menu
4. A dialog box will appear asking, "Do you want to pin ArkivDigital to the taskbar?" Click Yes
5. A shortcut to ArkivDigital will now be in the taskbar

Shortcut on Mac via Safari

1. Click once in the address bar so that the entire text is highlighted
2. Click in the address bar, hold down the mouse button, and drag the text to the desktop
3. Release the button, and the shortcut will now appear on the desktop

You can change the text on the shortcut by clicking once on the text under the icon so that it becomes highlighted. Delete the existing text and type the desired name, such as "ArkivDigital."

Note: The shortcut will open with the browser set as the default browser.
