How do I search in the indexes?

To search in our indexes, click on Index Search in the blue menu on the left side of the program. In most indexes, you can then choose between Simple Search and Advanced Search.

In Simple Search, enter all the information in the same search field. You can enter the information in any order you like.

In Advanced Search, enter the details you want to search for in the respective fields.

When conducting a search, it’s wise to start with just a few pieces of information. The more information you enter, the greater the risk that you won’t get any results.

For example, start by searching for the person's first and last name. If you get too many results, add the person’s birth year. This way, you can continue adding information until you have narrowed the search results enough to find what you're looking for.

Also, try varying your search by using different combinations of information, such as first name and birth date, last name and birth year, and so on.
